# Metal Migration Complete, Pricing Page Refresh, Affiliate Program Launch

Greetings Metalheads!

Today is a special day because we’re celebrating the end of [the Great Metal Migration](https://railway.com/changelog/2025-05-02-great-metal-migration#the-great-metal-migration) over to [Railway Metal](https://docs.railway.com/railway-metal) — that’s right, we’re now running 100% on Railway servers!

Before we get started, we also wanted to let you know that we’re slowly starting to default new builds over to [Railpack](https://github.com/railwayapp/railpack), which is our next-generation builder after [Nixpacks](https://github.com/railwayapp/nixpacks).

We’re titrating the migration very slowly for new projects only. If you’d like to learn more about Railpack in advance of our 1.0 release, check out the [Railpack](https://railpack.com/) information page.

With all that said, it’s now time for this week’s changelog — heavy metal edition. 🤘

Let’s go!

## Metal Migration Complete

[Image: All Railway regions are now running Railway Metal]

It’s an amazing week here at Railway where we’ve finally completed the full user workload migration to [Railway Metal](https://docs.railway.com/railway-metal)!

All workloads, new and old, are now running 100% on Railway Metal, and boy does that feel good to say.

As a reminder, these are the [benefits of Railway Metal](https://docs.railway.com/railway-metal):

- No paying for team seats on Pro
- Regions for users on all plans
- 50% less egress pricing
- 40% less storage pricing
- Improved CPU and read/write performance

… and that’s just the start of it!

As you can see, it’s already begun, but Railway Metal is going to unlock a huge number of improvements from cost savings to performance improvements to customization options and more.

If you’re new here, or you haven’t been around for the last couple of changelogs, we invite you to read all about why we’ve migrated to Railway Metal in the [blogpost](https://blog.railway.com/p/launch-week-02-welcome) from Railway Founder Jake Cooper.

Since we completed the move the Railway Metal, we also had to change up one of the pages on our website…

## Pricing Page Refresh

We’ve introduced a [new pricing page](https://railway.com/pricing)!

Don’t worry — the only direction prices have moved is *down *(specifically network egress and volume storage pricing).

The biggest problem we set out to solve with this page was how to communicate that Railway is *pay-per-use* rather than *pay-per-what-you-provision*.

The difference between paying for server cycles that you don’t use 100% (e.g. when you provision a server on most other clouds) and paying only for what you actually use on Railway is huge!

In most cases we’re seeing customers who migrate from [traditional clouds](https://railway.com/heroku) save 40%+ on their cloud bill. To really hammer that point home, we’ve also introduced a new module on the [pricing page](https://railway.com/pricing) to allow you to upload your bill from another cloud provider.

If you do, we’ll respond as quick as we can with an estimate for how much money we anticipate you will save by switching to Railway.

[Image: Upload your bill from another cloud provider and we’ll tell you how much you can save switching to Railway]

How cool is that?

Another new module you might notice is the *Enterprise unlocks* section, which enumerates the levels of service you can expect at various committed spend levels.

[Image: Enterprise features unlock at various levels of minimum monthly committed spend]

Said another way, if you agree to spend $200/mo with us minimum, you’ll get 90-day log history; if you agree to spend $500/mo, you’ll get a direct Slack Connect channel with our team … and so on and so forth.

This is the best way we could think of to make sure that you always get the highest quality of service that you require to run your business.

Okay, that’s enough talking about the page … go [check it out](https://railway.com/pricing) for yourself!

## Affiliate Program Launch

[Image: We’ve launched a brand new Railway Affiliate Program]
