# Deploy and Host Crawl4AI on Railway

[Crawl4AI](https://github.com/unclecode/crawl4ai) is an open-source web crawler and scraper that turns web pages into clean markdown and structured data for LLMs and RAG pipelines.

## About Hosting Crawl4AI

This template runs the official `unclecode/crawl4ai:latest` image, which bundles a headless browser, Redis and the HTTP API on port 11235. A random `CRAWL4AI_API_TOKEN` is generated for you; the server only accepts connections when a token is set. Find it in the service's Variables tab and send it as `Authorization: Bearer `. The `/playground` page offers a UI for trying requests, and `/health` reports status. The image is large, so the first deploy can take a few minutes, and the browser needs at least 2 GB of RAM.
