## Documentation

# Deploy and Host FalkorDB on Railway

[FalkorDB](https://github.com/FalkorDB/FalkorDB) is a low-latency graph database built on GraphBLAS. It speaks the Redis protocol and the openCypher query language, and is popular as a knowledge-graph store for GraphRAG and AI agents.

## About Hosting FalkorDB

This template runs the official `falkordb/falkordb` image with a persistent volume at `/var/lib/falkordb/data`, so graphs survive redeploys. The public URL opens the bundled FalkorDB Browser, where you can run Cypher queries and explore graphs visually. A random database password is generated: read `DB_PASSWORD` in the service's Variables tab, then sign in to the browser with host `localhost`, port `6379`, username `default` and that password. The database itself listens on port 6379 inside Railway's private network; other services in the same project can reach it at `.railway.internal:6379` with any Redis or FalkorDB client using the same password.

## Common Use Cases

- Knowledge graphs and GraphRAG backends for LLM applications
- Fraud, recommendation and network analysis queries in Cypher
- Agent memory stores

## Dependencies for FalkorDB Hosting

- One service with a volume; nothing else

## Why Deploy FalkorDB on Railway?

Railway gives you a public HTTPS URL for the browser UI, private networking for your apps, a persistent volume and automatic restarts with no server to maintain.
