# Deploy and Host Freqtrade on Railway

[Freqtrade](https://github.com/freqtrade/freqtrade) is a free, open-source crypto trading bot written in Python: strategies, backtesting, hyperopt, dry-run paper trading and a web UI (FreqUI).

## About Hosting Freqtrade

This template runs the official `freqtradeorg/freqtrade:stable` image in **dry-run (paper trading) mode** on Kraken with the bundled sample strategy, so no money and no exchange keys are involved. A volume at `/freqtrade/user_data` keeps strategies, data and the trade database. Open the public URL to reach FreqUI, add the bot with this same URL, user `admin` and the generated `FREQTRADE__API_SERVER__PASSWORD` variable from the service. To trade for real you must change the start command and supply your own config, strategy and exchange keys; do that only after testing.
