# Deploy and Host Glance on Railway

[Glance](https://github.com/glanceapp/glance) is a lightweight, self-hosted dashboard that gathers feeds, weather, calendar, releases, videos, Reddit, Hacker News and more on one page.

## About Hosting Glance

This template runs the official `glanceapp/glance` image. The image does not ship a config file, so the template's start command writes a small starter `glance.yml` (calendar, weather, Hacker News and two RSS feeds) and then starts Glance on port 8080. Glance is a read-only dashboard with no login, so it holds no secrets and needs no database or volume.

## Why Deploy Glance on Railway?

Railway gives you a public HTTPS URL, automatic restarts and no server to maintain. To change the widgets, edit the start command of the service (the YAML is inside it) and redeploy. Anyone with the URL can view the dashboard, so do not put private feeds in it.
