## Documentation

# Deploy and Host Go + PocketBase + HTMX on Railway

One-click Go backend with embedded PocketBase and an HTMX UI. Built for [c17.io](https://c17.io).

## About Hosting Go + PocketBase + HTMX

Railway builds the Dockerfile, injects `PORT`, and serves the app on a public URL. Attach a volume at `/data` so PocketBase data persists across deploys. Optional env vars seed the first admin user.

## Common Use Cases

- Internal tools and admin UIs
- SaaS MVPs with auth and a database in one service
- Learning Go + HTMX without a separate database

## Dependencies for Go + PocketBase + HTMX Hosting

### Deployment Dependencies

- A Railway account
- Volume mount at `/data`
- Optional: `PB_ADMIN_EMAIL` and `PB_ADMIN_PASSWORD` for the first PocketBase superuser

### Implementation Details

- Health check: `GET /healthz`
- Default data dir: `PB_DATA_DIR=/data`
- Source: https://github.com/9o4t/go-pocketbase-htmx

## Why Deploy Go + PocketBase + HTMX on Railway?

Zero required environment variables, a single service, and a persistent volume. Matches the stack pattern used across c17.io replace and stack pages.
