# Deploy and Host Gotify on Railway

[Gotify](https://github.com/gotify/server) is a simple self-hosted server for sending and receiving push messages. You send a message with a plain HTTP request, and it shows up in the web UI and in the Gotify Android app in real time.

## About Hosting Gotify

This template runs the official `gotify/server` image with a persistent volume at `/app/data`, so users, applications, messages and the SQLite database survive redeploys. No separate database service is needed.

The admin user is `admin`. Its password is generated for you at deploy time: open the service's Variables tab in Railway and copy `GOTIFY_DEFAULTUSER_PASS`. Sign in with it on first visit, then change it under Account in the web UI.
