# Deploy and Host Hermes Agent on Railway

Hermes Agent is a self-hosted, autonomous AI agent designed to act as your personal assistant and automate tasks on your behalf. Self-hosting gives you greater privacy and control over your agent, its configuration, and data. This template simplifies deploying Hermes Agent on Railway, providing a ready-to-use foundation for your own AI agent.

## About Hosting Hermes Agent

This template makes hosting Hermes Agent on Railway straightforward by providing a ready-to-deploy setup based on the official Hermes Agent Docker image. It includes persistent storage for the agent’s data, a web dashboard protected with Basic Authentication, and API access for external integrations. Once deployed, you have your own running Hermes Agent instance without having to manually configure the underlying infrastructure.
