# Deploy and Host Jellyfin on Railway

[Jellyfin](https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin) is a free, self-hosted media server: it organises your movies, shows, music and photos and streams them to browsers, phones and TVs.

## About Hosting Jellyfin

This template runs the official `jellyfin/jellyfin:latest` image with a persistent volume at `/config`. Settings, users, metadata and the library database live on the volume and survive redeploys. Put media on the volume (for example under `/config/media`) or use remote storage, then add it as a library.

## Common Use Cases

- Stream a personal media library from anywhere
- Share libraries with family through separate accounts
