# Deploy and Host Nakama on Railway

Nakama is a multi-tenant AI agent platform for teams. It combines a browser-based chat workspace with configurable agent identities, tools, skills, memory, automations, and messaging channels. A single container provides the dashboard, API, and workers, giving teams a practical way to operate capable agents while retaining human control and organizational isolation.

## About Hosting Nakama on Railway
Railway runs Nakama from its pinned upstream GHCR image as one HTTP service. The platform supplies a public domain, routes traffic to port 4310, and manages container restarts.

## Why Deploy Nakama on Railway
Railway provides fast image-based deployment, automatic HTTPS, environment-variable management, logs, and simple service operations. Nakama's all-in-one image keeps the deployment compact and makes the dashboard immediately accessible after startup.

## Deployment Notes
The service listens on port 4310. Open the generated domain and complete Nakama's first-run setup wizard to create the initial account and configure an AI provider. The upstream image runs as UID 1000, while a fresh Railway volume is root-owned; mounting /nakama/data caused a permission failure, so this one-click configuration uses ephemeral storage. Redeployments may therefore reset application data. No start command override is used.

## Dependencies for Nakama on Railway
Nakama is self-contained and has no external service dependency in this template. SQLite, the web dashboard, API, and platform workers run inside the application container.
