# Deploy and Host Netdata on Railway

[Netdata](https://github.com/netdata/netdata) is an open-source monitoring agent that collects thousands of metrics per second with zero configuration and shows them in a live dashboard.

## About Hosting Netdata

This template runs the official `netdata/netdata:stable` image with a persistent volume at `/var/lib/netdata`. It starts with the default configuration and monitors the container it runs in; metric history survives redeploys. Add collectors or stream data from other Netdata agents through its configuration.

## Common Use Cases

- Watch CPU, memory, disk and network of a service in real time
- Receive streamed metrics from your other Netdata agents (parent node)
- Set up alerts on anomalies
