# Deploy and Host Openfront Comedy Club with Railway

Openfront Comedy Club is a self-hostable application for comedy clubs. Guests browse upcoming shows, choose a ticket tier or a table, and pay online. Club staff run the show calendar, lineups, door check-in, table seating, food and drink checks with a two-item minimum, comedian pay and the nightly close.

## About Hosting Openfront Comedy Club

This template provisions the application from [its GitHub repository](https://github.com/openshiporg/openfront-comedy-club), PostgreSQL, and a private native Railway Bucket named `Storage`. The database starts empty; no demo records or reusable credentials are included. After deployment, open `/dashboard/init` to create the first admin, then run setup from the sidebar card.

`DATABASE_URL` references Postgres and the five `S3_*` variables reference the Storage bucket. Generated per deployment: `SESSION_SECRET` and `CRON_SECRET`. `NEXT_PUBLIC_APP_URL`, `STOREFRONT_URL` and `SMTP_STORE_LINK` use the service's public domain.

The app gets a Railway-generated public domain. No custom domains are included.

### Admin Dashboard
Tonight (door check-in, seating, checks and running order), Shows, Orders, Approvals, Lineups and talent, Open mic, Floor and menu, Payouts, Reports, Promo codes, Customers, Payment providers and Settings.

### Storefront
Upcoming shows, a show page with the lineup and a tier or table choice, checkout with a hold timer, order confirmation with ticket codes, find-my-order lookup with self-cancel, and open mic signup.

### Calendar, Lineups & Talent
Weekly show templates, headliner runs, open mic nights with a lottery, and lineups with host, opener, feature and headliner. Each comedian's fee is copied onto the slot when booked.

### Tickets, Seating & Checks
Price tiers with server-owned capacity, 10-minute holds, promo codes and comps. Door scans never admit twice. Parties are seated at tables, and checks enforce the per-guest minimum at close.

### Payouts & Settlement
Closing the night creates comedian payouts and a settlement covering tickets, fees, discounts, refunds, food and drink, tips and talent cost.

## Common Use Cases

- Selling tickets and tables for nightly shows
- Running the door, seating and table checks
- Booking comedians and settling the night

## Dependencies for Openfront Comedy Club Hosting

The app needs a PostgreSQL database and S3-compatible object storage. Both are provisioned by this template.

### Implementation Details

Next.js and Keystone 6 with a GraphQL API, Prisma, and PostgreSQL. Stripe and SMTP variables are optional and blank; add your own keys and a Stripe webhook pointing at `/api/integrations/payment/pp_stripe/webhook` to take card payments. Call `POST /api/cron/expire-holds` with `Authorization: Bearer $CRON_SECRET` every minute to release expired holds.
