# Deploy and Host Portainer on Railway

[Portainer](https://github.com/portainer/portainer) is a web UI for managing container environments: Docker, Swarm and Kubernetes hosts, stacks, images and volumes.

## About Hosting Portainer

This template runs the official `portainer/portainer-ce:lts` image with a persistent volume at `/data`. On first visit you create the admin user; do this promptly after deploy, because anyone who reaches the URL first can create it. Railway has no Docker socket, so connect remote hosts through the Portainer Agent or Edge Agent.
