# Deploy and Host Portkey AI Gateway on Railway

[Portkey AI Gateway](https://github.com/Portkey-AI/gateway) is a small, fast AI gateway that gives one OpenAI-compatible API in front of many LLM providers, with fallbacks, retries and load balancing.

## About Hosting Portkey AI Gateway

This template runs the official `portkeyai/gateway:latest` image. The gateway stores no secrets: provider API keys are sent by your clients with each request (or via Portkey headers), so nothing needs to be configured at deploy time. Open the public URL for the gateway page and point your OpenAI-compatible client at `https:///v1`.
