# Deploy and Host QuestDB on Railway

[QuestDB](https://github.com/questdb/questdb) is an open-source time-series database with fast ingestion, SQL queries and a built-in web console.

## About Hosting QuestDB

This template runs the official `questdb/questdb:10.1.0` image with a persistent volume at `/var/lib/questdb`. The web console and REST API are served on port 9000 and are protected by HTTP Basic authentication: the username and password are generated at deploy time and stored in the service variables `QDB_HTTP_USER` and `QDB_HTTP_PASSWORD`. Open the Variables tab to read them, then sign in at the public URL.

- Store and query metrics, sensor and market data with SQL
- Explore tables in the web console and import CSV files
- Query over the REST API (`/exec`) with the same credentials
