# Deploy and Host VictoriaMetrics on Railway

[VictoriaMetrics](https://github.com/VictoriaMetrics/VictoriaMetrics) is a fast, cost-effective time series database that accepts Prometheus remote write and many other ingestion formats.

## About Hosting VictoriaMetrics

This template runs the official single-node `victoriametrics/victoria-metrics` image with a volume at `/victoria-metrics-data`. The UI is at `/vmui`. Access is protected with basic auth: username `admin`, password is the `VM_PASSWORD` variable on the service. Use the same credentials when pointing Grafana or Prometheus at the URL.
