# Deploy and Host Whoop MCP Server on Railway

Whoop MCP Server is an open-source MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP apps answer questions about your WHOOP recovery, sleep, strain and workouts, from your own WHOOP account. Independent project, not affiliated with WHOOP.

## About Hosting Whoop MCP Server

One click gives you a private server with a volume, auto updates and generated secrets, there's nothing to fill in.
Then click the service card: its address is at the top of the **Deployments** tab. Open it, and the page walks you through the rest, ticking steps as you go: create a WHOOP developer app (every field shown, with Copy buttons), paste its two keys over the placeholders in the service's variables, add the address to your AI app, and approve WHOOP once on your first question. New versions install themselves from the `:1` image tag.

## Why Deploy Whoop MCP Server

 - Your data stays yours: the server fetches it live from WHOOP when you ask, and stores only its sign-ins and your encrypted WHOOP tokens. No third party in between.
 - A sign-in guards the MCP endpoint: each AI app asks for the server password once.
 - Works wherever your AI app has the connector: Claude on desktop and mobile, ChatGPT on the web, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf.
 - Open source (MIT), with a security policy and a privacy note in the repository.

## Common Use Cases

 - "How did I sleep last night?" and "How recovered am I today?"
 - Trends over recent weeks: recovery, HRV, resting heart rate, sleep performance, strain.
 - Your workouts and their strain, to plan the day with your AI assistant.
 - A foundation for your own health assistant, built on the MCP tools.

## Dependencies for Whoop MCP Server

 - A WHOOP membership and a free WHOOP developer account, to create an app with a Client ID and Client Secret.
 - An MCP-capable AI app: Claude, ChatGPT (Developer mode), Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or Windsurf.
 - Nothing else: the server is one Docker image with a volume.
