# Railway User Hackathon

Hack. Ship. Win. The Railway User Hackathon is a community event where developers build projects, templates, and content on Railway for cash prizes.

The most recent hackathon ran August 6–11. Winners were announced August 15 — see them at https://blog.railway.com/p/hackathon-2025-winners.

## Submission categories

- **Software Track** — A project and template that you built with your warm, alive hands (or with an LLM).
- **Content Track** — A guide showcasing Railway and your project to help others learn the platform.

## Required submission criteria

- Create a Railway project after the hackathon start date.
- Make the project public.
- Create a template from your project.
- Write content showcasing your Railway project.
- Meet the basic depth criteria for the track you're entering.

## Enhancements (boost discoverability)

- Publish your template to the Railway marketplace.
- Post about your project on social media.

## Timeline (most recent edition)

- Hackathon starts: Wed, Aug 6 @ 8am ET
- Submissions close: Mon, Aug 11 @ 12pm ET
- Community voting: Aug 11–14 on station.railway.com
- Winners announced: Fri, Aug 15
