Deploy and Host EasyNode on Railway

EasyNode is a multi-functional web terminal panel for managing Linux and Windows servers through WebSSH and WebSFTP. It includes SSH and SFTP access, jump server functionality, AI-assisted terminal conversations, batch command execution, script management, credential hosting, instance grouping, notifications, and customizable terminal themes.

About Hosting EasyNode

Hosting EasyNode on Railway involves deploying the chaoszhu/easynode:latest Docker image as a Railway service. The application exposes its web panel on HTTP port 8082, which can be connected to a Railway public domain for browser access. EasyNode stores its application database under /easynode/app/db, so a persistent Railway Volume is required at that path. The supplied configuration also defines a DEBUG environment variable with a default value of 0. EasyNode uses the deployed server as a relay for WebSSH and monitoring traffic, making the location and network characteristics of the Railway service relevant to remote-server connectivity. Docker

Deploy the following Docker image:

Railway can deploy the prebuilt Docker image directly, so no custom Dockerfile or build command is required by the supplied template.

Public Networking

EasyNode exposes its web panel on port 8082:

After deployment, go to Settings → Networking and generate a Railway domain for port 8082. Railway provides HTTPS access through the generated domain.

Because EasyNode provides an administrative server-management panel, avoid exposing it publicly without appropriate access controls. The supplied documentation recommends security measures such as MFA and IP whitelisting.

Persistent Storage

  1. Open the EasyNode service in Railway.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Open Volumes.
  4. Add a volume.

The volume preserves EasyNode's application database and associated data across service restarts and redeployments.

Accessing the Application
  1. Create a new Railway project.
  2. Add a service using the chaoszhu/easynode:latest Docker image.
  3. Configure HTTP port 8082.
  4. Add a Railway Volume mounted at /easynode/app/db.
  5. Set DEBUG=0.
  6. Deploy the service.
  7. Open the Deployment Logs for the EasyNode service.
  8. Look for the initial username and password generated during deployment.
  9. Open Settings → Networking and generate a Railway domain for port 8082.
  10. Open the generated HTTPS URL.
  11. Log in using the username and password shown in the deployment logs.
  12. Change the password after your first login.

First login: EasyNode does not use the old admin/admin default credentials. Check the Railway Deployment Logs after deployment to obtain the initial username and password. Use these credentials for your first login and change the password immediately afterward.

For additional security, enable MFA and configure IP whitelisting where appropriate.

EasyNode's WebSSH and monitoring functionality uses the deployed server as a relay, so consider the Railway deployment region and its network latency relative to the servers you intend to manage.
