Deploy and Host Gogs on Railway
Gogs is a painless, lightweight self-hosted Git service written in Go: repositories, issues, pull requests, wiki and webhooks.
About Hosting Gogs
This template runs the official gogs/gogs:0.14 image with a persistent volume at /data that holds repositories, configuration and the database. On first visit you see the install page: choose SQLite3 as the database type, set Domain and Application URL to this service's public Railway URL (https://...), set HTTP Port to 3000, optionally create the admin account under Admin Account Settings, then click Install. The first user to register becomes the admin. Git over HTTPS works through the public URL; SSH is not exposed.
Common Use Cases
- Private Git hosting for personal or team projects
- Issue tracking and code review without a SaaS
- A lightweight mirror of public repositories
Dependencies for Gogs Hosting
- One service with a volume; SQLite is built in

Why Deploy Gogs on Railway?
Railway gives you a public HTTPS URL, a persistent volume and automatic restarts with no server to maintain. Finish the install page once and the instance is ready.
