Deploy and Host Halo on Railway

Halo is an open-source website builder and CMS for blogs, forums and product sites, with a plugin and theme system.

About Hosting Halo

This template runs the official halohub/halo:2.27 image with the built-in H2 database and a persistent volume at /root/.halo2, so posts, themes, plugins and settings survive redeploys. Until the setup wizard is completed the site root shows a 404 message: open /system/setup on your domain, create the admin account, then the site and /console work normally.

Common Use Cases

  • Publish a blog or personal site with themes and plugins
  • Run a lightweight company or documentation site
  • Manage content from a built-in admin console at /console

Dependencies for Halo Hosting

  • One service with a volume; no external database needed

Why Deploy Halo on Railway?

Railway gives you a public HTTPS URL, automatic restarts and no server to maintain. After the deploy, open your domain followed by /system/setup to finish the wizard.
