Deploy and Host Jenkins on Railway
Jenkins is the open-source automation server used to build, test and deploy software through pipelines and a large plugin ecosystem.
About Hosting Jenkins
This template runs the official jenkins/jenkins image with a persistent volume at /var/jenkins_home, so jobs, plugins and settings survive redeploys. On first visit Jenkins asks for the initial administrator password: open the service's Deploy Logs in Railway and copy the password printed between the rows of asterisks, paste it into the Unlock screen, install the suggested plugins and create your admin user.
Common Use Cases
- Continuous integration and delivery pipelines
- Scheduled jobs and automation scripts
- Building and testing projects from Git on every push
Dependencies for Jenkins Hosting
- One service with a volume; nothing else

Why Deploy Jenkins on Railway?
Railway gives you a public HTTPS URL, a persistent volume and automatic restarts with no server to maintain. The instance stays locked behind the initial administrator password until you finish setup.
