Deploy and Host Obscura [Aug '26] on Railway
Obscura is a headless browser built for AI agents and web scraping. You connect to it over the Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) on port 9222 and control a real browser from your code.
About Hosting Obscura
Single Dockerfile, single service. The browser runs inside the container and exposes CDP over HTTP. No GPU, no special hardware. Connect from any Puppeteer, Playwright, or CDP client.
Common Use Cases
- Give your AI agent a real browser it can navigate, click, and read pages from
- Scrape JavaScript-heavy sites that curl can't handle
- Run browser-based tests against staging environments
Dependencies for Obscura Hosting
- Nothing external. The Docker image ships Chromium and the server.
Why Deploy Obscura on Railway?
Railway gives you a persistent browser endpoint your agents call over HTTPS. No local Chrome install, no Docker on your laptop.
