Deploy and Host QuestDB on Railway

QuestDB is an open-source time-series database with fast ingestion, SQL queries and a built-in web console.

About Hosting QuestDB

This template runs the official questdb/questdb:10.1.0 image with a persistent volume at /var/lib/questdb. The web console and REST API are served on port 9000 and are protected by HTTP Basic authentication: the username and password are generated at deploy time and stored in the service variables QDB_HTTP_USER and QDB_HTTP_PASSWORD. Open the Variables tab to read them, then sign in at the public URL.

Common Use Cases

  • Store and query metrics, sensor and market data with SQL
  • Explore tables in the web console and import CSV files
  • Query over the REST API (/exec) with the same credentials

Dependencies for QuestDB Hosting

  • One service with a volume; nothing else

Why Deploy QuestDB on Railway?

Railway gives you a public HTTPS URL, a persistent volume and automatic restarts with no server to maintain. Access is behind a generated password, so the console is not open to strangers.
