About Hosting Telegram Proxy

Hosting a Telegram MTProto Proxy on Railway gives you a private proxy that speaks Telegram’s native protocol. The template runs the official telegrammessenger/proxy container with persistent volume support and Railway TCP Proxy, because MTProto requires raw TCP (not HTTP).

You only need to set a few environment variables (SECRET, optional WORKERS and TAG). After deployment, enable TCP Proxy on port 443, generate your proxy link, and start using it in Telegram. No web dashboard, no extra services — just a clean, lightweight proxy under your full control.

Implementation Details

After deployment:

Enable Railway TCP Proxy and set Internal Port to 443.
Copy the generated TCP hostname and port.

Create your proxy link:

https://t.me/proxy?server=YOUR_HOST&port=YOUR_PORT&secret=YOUR_SECRET

(Optional) Generate a Fake-TLS secret starting with ee for better DPI resistance:

Note: The TAG is not persistent and must be re-set after every redeploy.

How to Get a TAG (Advertisement Tag)

Deploy the proxy first and copy your SECRET.
Open Telegram and search for @MTProxybot.
Send the command /newproxy.
Input your Railway TCP Proxy hostname, port, and your SECRET.
The bot will reply with a TAG (example: 3f40462915a3e6026a4d790127b95ded).
Copy the TAG and paste it into the TAG environment variable in your Railway service.
