Typesense is an open-source, typo-tolerant search engine: you index JSON documents into collections and query them over a simple REST API.

About Hosting Typesense

This template runs the official typesense/typesense:29.0 image with a persistent volume at /data, so collections and indexes survive redeploys. The server is protected by an admin API key that Railway generates for you: open the service's Variables tab and copy TYPESENSE_API_KEY, then send it in the X-TYPESENSE-API-KEY header (or use it to create scoped search-only keys). The health endpoint is /health. The server listens on port 8108 and is reachable at the generated public HTTPS domain.

Why Deploy Typesense on Railway?

Railway gives you a public HTTPS endpoint, a persistent volume and automatic restarts without a server to maintain. Copy the generated API key from the Variables tab and point your client at the service domain on port 443.
