Deploy and Host Chatwoot + n8n with Railway

Chatwoot + n8n is a ready-to-run stack for building AI agents on WhatsApp and other channels. Chatwoot is the open-source omnichannel inbox where your team sees and answers every conversation. n8n is the workflow engine where your AI agent, automations and integrations live. Both come pre-wired over Railway's private network.

About Hosting Chatwoot + n8n

This template deploys 7 services and 1 storage bucket:

Chatwoot (web app) and Sidekiq (background jobs), with attachments stored in a Railway bucket
n8n primary (editor and webhooks) and n8n worker (executions in queue mode)
Postgres with pgvector for Chatwoot and a separate Postgres for n8n, both with volumes
Redis, shared by Chatwoot (db 0) and the n8n queue (db 1), with a volume

All passwords and encryption keys are generated at deploy time. Only Chatwoot and the n8n editor get public domains; databases and Redis stay on the private network.

Requirements: Railway Hobby plan or higher. The stack needs about 2 GB of RAM, so it does not run on the free trial.

After deploying:

Open https:///installation/onboarding to create the admin account (public sign-up is disabled).
Open your n8n domain and create the owner account.
In Chatwoot, add a WhatsApp Cloud inbox with your Meta credentials, then connect an Agent Bot that points to an n8n webhook.
Optional: set GENERIC_TIMEZONE and TZ on both n8n services to your timezone.
