Deploy and Host CloudCLI on Railway
CloudCLI is a web interface for Claude Code and Codex. You get chat, a file browser, a code editor, git and a terminal in the browser, so you can run a coding agent from any device, including your phone.
About Hosting CloudCLI
This template runs CloudCLI on a Railway service with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and OpenCode already installed. A volume at /data keeps your projects, chat history and agent logins across redeploys.
Out of the box, CloudCLI lets the first visitor to a new install create the only account. That's fine on localhost, but on a public URL a stranger could get there first. This template creates your account from the CLOUDCLI_USERNAME and CLOUDCLI_PASSWORD variables before the site goes live.
After deploying:
- Open the generated URL and sign in as
admin. Your password is in the service's Variables tab. - Click Login next to Claude Code and follow the link. A Pro or Max subscription works, or set
ANTHROPIC_API_KEYinstead. - Clone a repo into
~/projectsand start working.
It updates automatically. New CloudCLI releases are tested and ready within a day, and new Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode versions are added weekly. Railway shows you an update notice when one is ready. Applying it is up to you, and your data stays on the volume.
Common Use Cases
- Start a Claude Code task from your phone and check on it later, without keeping your laptop open
- Keep a long-running agent session going on a server instead of your own machine
- Have one place to work on your repos from any computer, with your logins and history already set up
- Try Codex and Claude Code side by side on the same projects
Dependencies for CloudCLI Hosting
- A Claude subscription (Pro or Max) or an Anthropic API key for Claude Code
- Optional: a ChatGPT subscription or an OpenAI API key for Codex

Implementation Details
All state lives under /data/home, which is also the home folder:
/data/home/.cloudcliholds the CloudCLI account database./data/home/.claudeand/data/home/.codexhold the agent logins and sessions./data/home/projectsis where your code goes.
The server runs as a non-root user. Changing CLOUDCLI_PASSWORD after the first boot has no effect. Change your password in CloudCLI's settings instead.
