Deploy and Host Dufs on Railway
Dufs is a small, fast file server written in Rust. It serves a directory over HTTP with a web UI for browsing, uploading, deleting and searching files, supports folder download as zip, and speaks WebDAV.
About Hosting Dufs
This template runs the official sigoden/dufs:latest image on port 5000, serving /data from a persistent volume. It is not open to the public: the template generates a random password and creates an account named admin with full read/write access, and anonymous visitors get nothing. Find the password in the service Variables tab (DUFS_PASSWORD), then open the URL and sign in as admin. The server also answers /__dufs__/health without a login for health checks.
To add more accounts or make folders public, edit the DUFS_AUTH variable (rule syntax: user:pass@/path:rw|@/public).
Common Use Cases
- A private file drop for your team
- A WebDAV share for notes and backups
- Quickly sending large files with a link and a password
Dependencies for Dufs Hosting
- One service with a volume; nothing else
