Deploy and Host FileBrowser Quantum on Railway

FileBrowser Quantum is a web file manager: browse, upload, preview, search and share files from any browser, with users, permissions and share links.

About Hosting FileBrowser Quantum

This template runs the official gtstef/filebrowser:latest image on port 80 with a persistent volume at /home/filebrowser/data. It holds the database, the config file and a files folder, which is the root of the file manager. The template generates a random admin password, so the default admin/admin login does not exist: sign in as admin with the value of FILEBROWSER_ADMIN_PASSWORD from the service Variables tab, then change it or add users in the settings. Public sign-up is turned off.

The starter config is written to the volume once; edit /home/filebrowser/data/config.yaml afterwards to change sources or authentication.

Common Use Cases

  • A private cloud drive for a team or family
  • Share links for large files with expiry and passwords
  • Browse and preview documents, images and media from a browser

Dependencies for FileBrowser Quantum Hosting

  • One service with a volume; nothing else

Why Deploy FileBrowser Quantum on Railway?

Railway gives you a public HTTPS URL, a persistent volume, a generated admin password and automatic restarts with no server to maintain.
