Deploy and Host Kotaemon on Railway

Kotaemon is an open-source web UI for chatting with your documents: upload files, index them and ask questions with cited answers, using the LLM and embedding providers you configure.

About Hosting Kotaemon

This template runs the official ghcr.io/cinnamon/kotaemon:main-lite image with a persistent volume at /app/ktem_app_data for documents, indexes and settings. The UI is protected by a login: the username is admin and the password is the generated KH_FEATURE_USER_MANAGEMENT_PASSWORD variable, which you can read in the service's Variables tab. After signing in, open Resources and add your LLM and embedding providers (for example an OpenAI-compatible API key).

Why Deploy Kotaemon on Railway?

Railway gives you a public HTTPS URL, a persistent volume and automatic restarts with no server to maintain. Sign in with the generated password and add your provider keys to start asking questions.
