Deploy and Host lakeFS on Railway
lakeFS gives data lakes Git-like repositories, branches, commits, and merges while keeping object data in S3-compatible storage.
About Hosting lakeFS
This template deploys lakeFS with a private PostgreSQL metadata database and a Railway Bucket blockstore. Generated administrator credentials are installed before the public revision starts, and persistent data stays outside the stateless lakeFS container.
Why Deploy lakeFS on Railway?
Railway runs the API and UI, private database, persistent volume, object bucket, networking, generated secrets, and health checks as one graph. The result is a small-team lakeFS installation without maintaining a separate VM or MinIO service.
Common Use Cases
- Create isolated data branches for ETL and analytics testing.
- Commit reproducible dataset versions for ML and batch pipelines.
- Promote reviewed object changes without copying an entire data lake.
- Give local tools and CI jobs an S3-compatible lakeFS gateway.
