Deploy and Host Qdrant on Railway
Qdrant is an open-source vector database and similarity search engine with a REST and gRPC API, used for semantic search, recommendations and RAG.
About Hosting Qdrant
This template runs the official qdrant/qdrant image with a persistent volume at /qdrant/storage, so collections and snapshots survive redeploys. The REST API and web dashboard are served on port 6333. The API is protected: a random API key is generated at deploy time and stored in the service variable QDRANT__SERVICE__API_KEY. Open the service Variables tab to read it, then send it in the api-key header of every request, or enter it in the dashboard at /dashboard.
Common Use Cases
- Semantic search over text, images or audio embeddings
- Retrieval for RAG pipelines and AI agents
- Recommendation and deduplication by vector similarity
Dependencies for Qdrant Hosting
- One service with a volume; nothing else

Why Deploy Qdrant on Railway?
Railway gives you a public HTTPS URL, a persistent volume and automatic restarts with no server to maintain. Your vector database is reachable from your other Railway services over the private network and from anywhere else with the generated API key.
