Deploy and Host ControlR on Railway
ControlR is an open-source, self-hostable remote control and remote access solution. It has cross-platform support for Windows, Mac, and Linux, allowing you to manage, troubleshoot, and control your devices remotely.
About Hosting ControlR
The template includes sane defaults for most configuration values. You only need to set an authentication token for the metrics container to get started.
The first account you create will be the server and tenant admin. Afterward, self-registration is disabled, and nobody else can join the server unless you explicitly invite them.
Note that account emails are disabled by default (forgot password, new account confirmation, etc.) since SMTP requires a Pro Railway subscription.
For more information, see the GitHub repo: https://github.com/bitbound/controlr
Common Use Cases
- Backup remote control for MSPs
- Managing home/family computers
Dependencies for ControlR Hosting
- All required dependencies are included
- You can optionally add Azure Application Insights, Microsoft auth, and GitHub auth by setting the corresponding configuration values.
Deployment Dependencies
See the docker-compose file for extra information on possible configuration values.
