Deploy and Host proxyt on Railway
A reverse proxy server that enables using a custom domain as a Tailscale login server when Tailscale domains are blocked or restricted in your environment.
About Hosting proxyt
Hosting proxyt allows you to run your own reverse proxy for Tailscale authentication.
By hosting it on your own domain (for example, login.example.com
), you can sign in to Tailscale even if access to login.tailscale.com
is unavailable or blocked by your network.
This gives you full control over the login endpoint and provides a simple, reliable fallback for restricted environments.
Why Deploy
You should deploy proxyt if:
- Your ISP or corporate network blocks access to Tailscale’s control plane
- You want to use a custom or branded login domain for Tailscale
- You need a self-hosted reverse proxy for authentication testing or internal use
Deploying proxyt ensures your Tailscale login experience remains available, even when the official Tailscale domains cannot be reached.
Common Use Cases
- Logging into Tailscale when the control plane is blocked by your ISP or firewall
- Using a personal or company domain for Tailscale login
- Providing a branded or region-specific authentication endpoint
- Running Tailscale authentication in isolated or offline environments
Dependencies for
proxyt is designed to be lightweight and self-contained.
- Runtime: None required beyond the container itself
- Configuration: Optional — defaults are suitable for most use cases
- Domain: You’ll need a custom domain or subdomain (e.g.,
login.example.com
) with DNS pointing to your Railway app
Deployment Dependencies
There are no external dependencies required for deployment.
Simply deploy proxyt to Railway, configure your domain, and you’re ready to go. Railway handles the container runtime, SSL certificates, and networking automatically.
